One thing for sure, teens want to dress according to their interests and affiliations. Unlike grownups who wear clothes depending on their upbringing, their work environment and social standing in the community, some teenagers wear clothes to identify themselves with somebody who is famous. Usually, wearing branded clothes would give them a sense of belongingness to that star and his distinct group. They might be the yelling fans or the silent admirers. But in adopting that fashion trends, they feel to have belong to the same group. They are the teenagers who feel that the clothes they wear would more popularize these stars and that they could benefit from such fame having been identified to them. This is the reason why designer clothes being endorsed by actors, actresses and pop stars are becoming selling hits.

Other teenagers feel that wearing clothes with its distinct cut would identify them to a certain type of set; whether they are hip hop, the sporty type, the romantic type or the alternatives. Through fashion, they had successfully revealed their true personalities; unlike the grown ups who weighs other factors, the teens’ fashion trends are clear manifestations of the teenagers’ true selves.

The teens’ wholehearted devotion to follow teen fashion trends are considered by some as mere extravagance. Not all teenagers are that rich enough to spend money on apparels in order to catch up with these trends. But creative teenagers have their own ways of fulfilling their passion, and others know how to sacrifice their allowances in order to buy the clothes and accessories just to be “in”.

The need for teen fashion has reached its competitive level in schools especially during the opening of classes. Here, the teenagers are likely to wear the latest trend, for this is the time to find a great new look and these teenagers feel that they are the ones. Do first impressions last? Yes. And these teens are scampering who can impress their peers first.

Teen fashion trends have become a lucrative business that capitalized on the insatiable appetite of the teenagers for distinction. And do you know that teens are behind the success of these companies? Most companies are not only using teens as models, they also optimize multi-talented teenagers. The comments, suggestions and ideas for new designs are made by experts with the assistance of these talented young people. Promotional blitzes including those well crafted fashion shows are done to suggest that teen fashion is really a part of the teens’ lives.

To some people, catching up with the teen fashion trends are just useless lifestyles. They won’t do any good except as a way of showing off that these teenagers have money to spend for these expensive clothing. Why go to the extent of catching up with new styles in order to be identified? Each one has the capability to be known, the ability to excel above others.

Whether the teenagers want to catch up with teen fashion trends or just wear any appropriate clothing, what is important is that these teens must work hard to become successful individuals. These teens do not only want fame, affiliations or distinction, they also want success and fruitful lives.

For years, plus size teens and young adults had little in the way of choice for fashionable, youthful clothing. They were forced to shop at “fat” stores, and find the least conservative styles at the “plus size ladies or guys” store. Manufacturers and retail stores would call all their plus size clothing, “teen friendly” when in reality the large flower print smock type blouses didn’t even really appeal to old ladies! It took years for the s/m/l designer mindset to realize that the majority of women and men, let alone teens aren’t s/m/l.

Plus size pre-teens had it even worse. At that awkward growing stage, pre-teens had to buy jeans that were way too baggy, long and shapeless and even with alteration, they would grow out of them quickly. Swimming suits for pre-teens went to size 14 or 16 if they were lucky, and they were never sized properly or attractive. JC Penneys and Sears were about the only common brick and mortar stores with some choice for plus size pre-teen and plus size teen fashion. And of course, back then in the 80s and early 90s there wasn’t an internet and catalog companies didn’t cater to plus size teens either! Going back further, the fashion world all but ignored plus size people in general. There might be one large size store in town and the mumu house dress and the boxy navy suit were all they carried. Plus size teenage girls in the 50s and 60s had to resort to wearing men’s jeans and slacks and shirts in order not to look like a 60 year old grandmother. The 70s brought an appreciation and realization that one size did not fit all, and jean companies began to stretch their line to size 18 and 20 with some fashionable choices. Richard Simmons came on the fashion scene in the early 80s and brought a recognition that plus size women and men were people too and might want some style in the wardrobe. But it still took another 20 years for fashion to embrace a teenage, youthful plus size look.

Thank goodness times have changed! Finally the fashion world has recognized there is a market for young, hip, plus size clothing and the internet is the delivery vehicle. The internet has forced choice on the fashion manufacturers and they are slowly realizing the demand is there and profitable. Forward thinking companies like Alight, Always for Me, Torrid, b&lu, Lane Bryant and The Avenue are delivering plus size teen fashions, in many choices and styles. Plus size teens still can’t find many options at the mall but that will no doubt change as the popularity of the online plus size teen stores becomes evident. Television shows like Oprah, Tyra and The View are featuring plus size fashion shows as the norm and not the exception. The waif model is morphing into a more realistic body type and fashion designers are building their styles on “normal” women, rather than designing a size 0 and making it larger for their plus size customers.

This notion that plus size teens would rather hide because of their weight problem and then not need fashion is being replaced with the realization that with body acceptance comes a greater ability to deal with weight issues. Again, stars like Oprah, Tyra and plus size model Emme have consistently asked for change in the way society treats plus size teens and adults. Slowly our image of a beautiful woman or attractive man isn’t limited to skin and bones, but includes all shapes and sizes. This new, healthy way of looking at size and style will ultimately help plus size teens feel better about themselves both mentally and physically. Hopefully the fashion world will embrace these new body types and retail possibilities and continue to expand their lines with plus size clothing actually made just for plus size teens.

You don’t have to be going back to school at the beginning of the school year to find great back to school fashions. You can get back to school fashions all year long. When it’s Tuesday, you will be going back to school on Wednesday, right? Why wait till after the school year ends to buy back to school fashions for the next year? It just doesn’t make sense.

In fact, the best time to buy back to school fashions is after the back to school season is over. This is because the back to school fashions that are left over at the retailers will have to go on sale in order to get rid of them and make room for the new fashions that have come in. So you not only get the current back to school fashions at a great price, but you are there just in time for the newest back to school fashions to hit the shelf before all those other schoolmates find them.

The best back to school fashions to buy all year long are blue jeans. Jeans never go out of style and are always available. However, jeans don’t go on sale as often, either, because they are always available and because people are always shopping for them. But new jeans do come in and the stores do have to get rid of the older ones by lowering the price, but the funny thing is that the new jeans look just like the old ones, so why pay more?

Another great way to save on back to school fashions is to wait to buy a coat until after the first snow. This is when the coats have gone on sale because everyone has already bought their coat when they were shopping for back to school fashions. The problem with waiting, though, is that new coats won’t come in until the next back to school season, so what is left over is the only choice you will have and all of the great coats may be gone. Check with your store to see if they have lawaway and you may still be able to get that great coat for a great price.

If you are looking for the latest back to school fashions for your kids there are several things to consider. You should be sure you get the latest styles at the best rates.

In style clothing is important to all kids when they go back to school. It is a new year and there is no better way to start off the year when you have the most in style clothing to look your best. Clothing that is in style makes you feel good and helps provide a positive outlook.

Shopping online is one of the best ways to obtain the best back to school fashions. This will guarantee that your child doesn’t end up at school with the same outfit on as someone else. If your child does end up in school with the same outfit on as another person it can be the most embarrassing moment, especially if the other girl looks cuter. Unique clothing is very important when it comes to school clothes.

Clothing for teens and kids can be expensive. It is important to get the best rates you possibly can when you buy clothing. When you shop for back to school fashions you can find exquisite deals online with a online shopping management service. This way you can afford to buy your child the best clothing and look so much better than the rest of their class.

Back to school fashions are important for all teens and kids. It is good for their self esteem and helps create a positive attitude about life and school. You should shop online to ensure that you get the best deals on the latest styles and fashions. In addition, you want to save embarrassment by ensuring your child doesn’t have the same outfit as someone else in their school.

The teen years are a period of tension and chaos in most families, with the elders wondering what happened to their sweet little child and the teen seemingly indifferent to the pain he/she causes his loved ones. But it doesn’t have to be that way, especially when you realise that the key words are “little” and “seemingly”. Your child isn’t little any more but at the cusp of adulthood. However there is a lack the emotional maturity to help steer through the maelstrom of hormonal ups and downs, self doubt, fear of the future and their place in it. While wanting to do the right thing, teens also want to break free of constraints to explore that which is proscribed. It is a time of possibilities and trepidation and it really doesn’t help the teen if he/she knows or feels that the elders are watching with disapproval. It doesn’t help because it turns him/her even more rebellious and because this is the time when he/she needs the parents’ unconditional love. However, there is no need to lose heart as there are ways to make the transition from wayward teen to mature adult easier.

1) Respect – Nothing is as disrespectful to a teen as treating him/her like a child. In his/her own eyes that phase has passed; not realising it sends an unspoken yet powerful message that the teenager isn’t being seen as one who is at a new threshold facing different challenges where the old guide book doesn’t really work.

2) Trust – Place a high premium on truth so that the thought of betraying your belief in him/her gives pause. It will probably happen, but to a lesser degree and far less often than usual. Trust your child unless you have proof, not suspicion, of wrong doing. If you act on suspicion alone, the teen will use your lack of actual knowledge to manipulate you into feelings of guilt or anger and thus sidestep the whole issue.

3) Discipline – Most teenagers prefer structure in their lives, limits to what they can do. Trying to push past these boundaries is what helps them to internalize accepted social mores since the family is where the child first comes in contact with the rules of reciprocity i.e. behave or else there will be consequences to face.

4) Flexibility – Balance discipline with flexibility, in other words, choose your battles. Choice of clothes, fashion, music call for a degree of resigned acceptance – they do outgrow those fads – but disrespect, acting out in anger merit greater attention. It is alright, even desirable, for a teenager to question authority, as long as he/she realizes that it does not give the teen carte blanche to attack it.

5) Guidance – Never let yourself forget that as a parent you are your child’s most important role model, even if at times it doesn’t feel like it. As your child passes through the teen years, your job description changes from teacher to guide, gently but firmly piloting the teenager through troubled waters through example and suggestions.

6) Letting Go – The hardest thing to do as a parent is seeing your child make mistakes that you know can be avoided and yet it is the truest indicator of your deep love. Provided it does not cause irrevocable harm, the best thing you can do is to let go of your teen and have confidence that all that you have tried to teach him/her has found root, even if overtly it does not seem so.

7) Expressions of Love – At the beginning of this article I had used the phrase “seemingly indifferent” to describe a teenager’s apparent lack of concern for his family and that is usually what it is. Trying hard to act as an adult by masking the emotions is common among teenagers, but it does not mean that they are not receptive to genuine expressions of love. It is not enough to love your teen, he/she must feel it at the very core of their being. Hugs, kisses, terms of affection and constantly telling your child how much he/she means to you will be the anchor during trying times.

Above all have faith in yourself and your child and you can see the result in the years to come as your wayward teen grows into the adult you can be proud of. It will be your crowning achievement.

Becky Bones champions grassroots solutions to environmental issues. Examples include planting trees and participating in other green projects. Becky Bones are her friends are fun characters that deliver a serious message about the state of the environment. As such, it is well worth integrating Becky Bones into online fashion games.

Fashion Games

Games for Girls are a great way for teens and tweens to become acquainted with the World Wide Web, and to develop their own identity. Online fashion boutiques let teens and tweens select virtual outfits and to dress up an avatar. Some of the outfits are inspired by those worn by real life celebrities. Online fashion games are a wonderful opportunity for teens and tweens to connect with the celebrities and the TV characters that they love, while experimenting with fashion. It also helps them to make a statement about who they are.

Free girl dress up games are also an opportunity for teens and tweens to gain their first entrepreneurial experience. The idea is that girls can create their own online boutiques, and sell their own creations to other members, using virtual money. It’s fun, it’s safe, and it’s often free.

Dress up Games Inspired by Becky Bones

Becky Bones is an inspiration to a new generation of environmentalists, and as such she is the perfect inspiration for fashion dress up games. Becky Bones lets teens and tweens connect with environmental issues, while participating in free online games for girls. To enable tweens and teens to experience the world of Becky Bones, websites such as GirlSense.com have developed celebrity boutiques that display fashion items that are inspired by Becky Bones, Tree, Lucy Lies, and Drip.

The Environment and Dress up Games for Girls

The state of the environment is as important to the younger age groups as it is to adults. Young people participate in environmental activities and learn about the state of the environment at school. Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” appealed to all age groups. Younger people are generally probably less cynical about the state of the environment, and have the time to be active in community action. Therefore, younger people are probably very important to the future of the environment, and the efforts to preserve it. Therefore, online dress up games present a terrific opportunity to combine environmental awareness with free fashion games.

Window shopping may be fun but it is much better to actually buy the items desired.

Teens, just like anyone, want to have cool stuff. Gadgets ranging from the latest iPods, game consoles to the latest fashion, name it and teens would want it. There’s a limitation though, and that’s called money.

Sons and daughters of the rich and famous may be lucky to have what they want but for an average teenager, it can be frustrating.

Luckily, parents do give teens the opportunity to spend money wisely. Sometimes the allowances are given on a weekly basis so as to train the teens in managing and budgeting their own money. Lately though, credit card companies come up with an ingenious strategy of coming up with credit cards exclusively for teens.

There are a number of available credit cards for teens. Parents are now seeing the advantages of getting one because these particular credit cards have a spending limit which means, teens could not go on a shopping spree anytime they want.

It is also a great way to monitor the spending habits of teens and to determine if money was very well spent.

Teens at this point should know how to limit spending habits. It is a great way of training oneself to be responsible in spending money. It should be implanted in the young teen’s mind that the money is hard-earned money and it would be a poor repayment to let the parents pay burgeoning debts for unimportant stuff.

For teens, it is advisable to get reliable advice from parents because they are the best resource on how to budget money. In order to train oneself, why not accompany mom in buying grocery and see how she manages the money intended for grocery? Did she impulsively get the products in the supermarket or did she have a list of things to buy? From that point of view, the teen gets to see that before purchasing something, a careful planning was done.

Next, know the difference between want and need. There is a big difference between the two. Teens may want something that they don’t need while they need something that they don’t really want. The important thing is, before buying something, think first if it will be beneficial.

Finally, what’s life without friends? Indeed, friends can give valuable advices on what’s necessary or not. It is always good to remember that honest money is not easy to earn. Therefore, buy something that is every inch the money’s worth.
